YEAR 1 DT: FRUITS FROM AROUND THE WORLD! Year 1 have had a fantastic week exploring fruits from different parts of the world, including Europe, Africa and South America! Berry Class developed their cooking skills by practising how to safely peel apples and bananas and carefully chop bananas and grapes. Acorn Class became fruit tasters, sampling five exciting fruits: passionfruit, grapefruit, pineapple, mango and avocado! They discovered some wonderful new flavours and found fruits they really enjoyed. Catkin Class explored where fruits grow around the world and created drawings of different fruits from the three continents, including papaya and apricots. We have had so much fun during this DT unit! The children have discovered new fruits, developed valuable cooking skills and learned more about the amazing variety of foods around the world. What an exciting week of learning! #MiltonMountSchool #Year1 #DT #HealthyEating
